CLIENT: Salesforce
During my stint as an Art Director at Salesforce, one of the most enjoyable projects I worked on was their annual Salesforce Adventure Club activity book – an all-ages collection of games, puzzles, and coloring pages. From concept to execution, this was pure joy. (Art by Paul Rogers.)

CLIENT: Redbubble
As the Art Director for Redbubble’s holiday campaign, I helped concept and execute twenty photoshoots for use across multiple platforms. Photography by Meiko Takechi Arquillos.
CLIENT: BentoBox
As an Art Director at BentoBox I do a little bit of everything, from branding to UX. This hero image is a great example of several disciplines coming together.
CLIENT: Causes
For this platform with 150 million users, I concepted and designed a microsite to aid in the efforts of recruiting engineers. The goal was a user experience compelling and humorous enough to be viral, and draw in as many applicants as possible.
CLIENT: Planet Lucy Press
For this book design I wanted it to reflect the frenetic and dense nature of the story. Having previously worked with this client, I was trusted and given the freedom to create something unconventional. Art by Rob Walton.
CLIENT: Netflix
One in a series of images created for Netflix’s social media accounts, to promote newly arrived movies including When Harry Met Sally, Fantasia, Election, and Anchorman 2.
CLIENT: Vault Comics
For this comic book publisher I designed their entire identity, including logo, business cards, letterhead, and a cover template for their line of comics. We opted for a stark black and white approach to stand in contrast against the oversaturated colors of competitors.
CLIENT: Archaia
Art direction and design for a hardcover graphic novel depicting the first English adaptation of creator Shotaro Ishinomori's classic Cyborg 009. Illustration by Marcus To.
An acetate dust jacket and vellum overlays peel away to show multiple layers. Nominated for a Harvey Award for Excellence in Presentation.
CLIENT: Causes
I designed the internal notification system, alerting users to messages and invitations from other users. I developed both the visual design (from iconography to the drop-down), as well as the UI – displaying an amended preview of invitations with the ability to discard invitations directly from the drop-down menu.
CLIENT: Hint
An animated social ad for Instagram, as part of a broader digital campaign.
CLIENT: Massdrop
As the Design Lead for an early stage e-commerce startup, my role covered just about everything – branding, UI, and UX, product design, web, print, and art directing photoshoots.
CLIENT: Archaia/BOOM!
I designed and lettered this hardcover graphic novel, printed in anaglyph 3D, with a die-cut cover, and 3D glasses tucked into an inside pocket. Illustration by Dave Marquez.
CLIENT: Ryan Montbleau Band
Design for and album packaged in a tri-fold digipak with spot varnish.
Imagine being able to talk with your deceased or emotionally absent mom whenever you want. The Momulator – an emulated mom – is a chat bot app that allows the user to get motherly advice regardless of how alive one's mom actually is.
CLIENT: Tenkara USA
I provided both art direction and the minimalist design of this magazine about tenkara – the minimalist art of Japanese fly-fishing. Illustration by Agnes Lee.
Every year I design and mail some rather wonderful holiday cards. The best way to get one is to hire me.
CLIENT: Amazon
A presentation created for Rohiot Prasad, Amazon's VP and Head Scientist of Alexa Artificial Intelligence for one of their re:Invent conferences. I worked on Thanksgiving to get this one done on time.
Watch the presentation.
CLIENT: Chronicle Books
Interior book design for a humor book about all the reasons New York elicits no decisive emotional response.
CLIENT: Little, Brown
For Little, Brown’s Voracious imprint, I designed the interior of this 208-page collection of desert island cartoons featuring over 100 cartoonists from The New Yorker and elsewhere. I also contributed to cartoons, illustrated the cover, and edited the whole thing along with my pal Ellis Rosen.
CLIENT: Dynamite Entertainment
This hardcover, cloth-bound, oversized book with gold foil stamping chronicles decades of work and behind-the-scenes material from the movie studio who brought the world The Toxic Avenger.
As a graphic designer, there’s a certain pressure that comes with designing your own wedding invitation. So a 3’ tall, screenprinted poster with gold ink and Easter egg barcodes seemed the way to go. I also designed the labels for the ham soda we made available to guests.
CLIENT: Soft Skull Press
Recognized by the New Yorker as part of their Well Titled, Well Covered series, I did the concepting and design for both the cover and interior, as well as interior illustrations.
CLIENT: HP
It may not be the most visually exciting piece in my portfolio, but I enjoyed the challenge of finding a way to animate a very short, text-only video. For this is did the design and storyboarding.
You’ve reached the end of my design samples, but there’s still more to explore, like my illustration work.
